Mother Of Corona Hit-and-Run Victim Offers Reward For "Solid Leads". | Temecula, Murrieta, Hemet Criminal Defense Law Firm

The mother of a 16-year-old Corona boy who was badly injured in a hit and run has offered a reward for anyone who can offer substantial information on the case.

The boy was skateboarding on Taylor Avenue on Sept. 13 when he was struck by a vehicle at the intersection with Citrus Way. Authorities believe the vehicle ran a four-way stop sign.

The boy's mother said she is offering $1,000 for "solid leads."

"Everyone needs to assume responsibility for whatever action you have," she told the Press Enterprise.

A sergeant with the Corona Police Department said no one has been able to provide license plate information or a vehicle description, so at the moment, all leads are cold.

We agree with the mother that the driver ought to come forward. Each of us must take responsibility for his or her actions. We assume that the driver has remained in hiding because he or she is afraid.

As criminal defense attorneys, we certainly understand that. One thing to point out is that if you have an attorney on your side, he or she can guide you through the process and protect your interests.

Now, attorneys are not magicians, and they can only work with the facts as they stand. Even so, having a strong advocate look out for you and walk you through the whole process can make it all much less intimidating.
